Weiming Xu, Tao Yang, Yicheng Chi, and Dr. Zhang attended the the China National Symposium on Combustion 2024 and their four papers were accepted as oral and poster presentations.
Tao Yang gave oral presentations on "Dynamical Behaviors of Circular Flickering Flames: Computational Identification and Stuart-Landau Modeling" and "Synchronization Modes of Triple Flickering Buoyant Diffusion Flames: Experimental Identification and Model interpretation".
Weiming Xu and Tao Yang also gave poster presentations on "Dimensionality Reduction and Dynamical Mode Recognition of Circular Arrays of Flame Oscillators Using Deep Neural Network" and "Dynamical Mode Recognition of Coupled Flame Oscillators by Supervised and Unsupervised Learning Approaches".
Dr. Zhang gave an interim defence poster of NSFC Founding on "Theoretical and Modelling Study on Droplet Collision in Lagrangian-Eulerian Simulation of Sprays".

Weiming Xu, Tao Yang, and Dr Peng Zhang attended the 1st National Conference on Intelligent Fluid Mechanics and their two papers were presented entitled "Dynamical Mode Recognition of Coupled Flame Oscillators by Supervised and Unsupervised Learning Approaches" and "Dimensionality Reduction and Dynamical Mode Recognition of Circular Arrays of Flame Oscillators Using Deep Learning Approach", repectively .
Congratulations to Weiming Xu on the recipient of Best Paper Award at this conference.

Tao Yang, Zeying Hu, Jinyang Wang, and Wenhao Wang attended the 16th International Conference on Liquid Atomization and Spray Systems (ICLASS). Four presentations were given:
"A New Scaling Law Of Splashing Threshold For Droplets Impacting On A Smooth Solid Surface" was presented by Tao Yang.
"Computational Realization Of Popping Impinging Sprays Of Hypergolic Bipropellants By A Spray-Equation Approach" was presented by Jinyang Wang.
"An Extended Kh-Rt Relaxation-Breakup Model For Eulerian-Lagrangian Simulation Of Two-Phase Detonation" and "Eulerian-Lagrangian Simulation Of Liquid-Fueled Oblique Detonation On Openfoam" were presented by Wenhao Wang.

Dr. Zhang was invited by Prof. Fei Qi and Xi Xia to deliver a talk entitled "Eulerian-Lagrangian Simulation of Spray Combustion in Detonation and Rocket Engine" at School of Mechanical and Power Engineering in Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
The Lagrangian particle tracking (LPT) and spray equation methods were presented through recent computational works. Dr. Zhang conducted Q&A on the droplet modeling problems.
